Staining Projects

Stain that protects your wood from Colorado’s worst.

Houses, decks, fences, and pergolas. Stain guards the wood from sun, snow, and hail, and we apply it to full saturation, guaranteed.

Project Types

Two kinds of staining, one standard.

House staining

We recommend staining your home every few years to maintain the integrity of the wood. All house staining projects carry a 4-year no-exclusions warranty.

Decks, fences & pergolas

Colorado’s climate is hard on horizontal surfaces; decks and fences may need staining every 1-2 years. Not warrantied, but we’re happy to help with maintenance through our Small Paint Projects program.

The Work

Stain projects across the Denver metro.

Four Stain Finishes

From see-the-grain to any color you want.

Your project consultant recommends the right finish for your wood’s condition; you pick the color.

Transparent

A touch of color that shows all of the wood grain. Best for brand-new, never-stained wood.

Semi-transparent

More pigment, still grain-forward. A middle ground for lightly weathered wood.

Semi-solid

Richer color that evens out imperfections while keeping some texture visible.

Solid stain

Full coverage, available in any exterior paint color. The most protective finish.

How It Works

Six steps to fully saturated, sealed wood.

01

Scheduling

We stain May through October for the best adhesion, at a time that works for your family.

02

Color selection

Pick your stain color and submit it with the online color release form. Solid stains come in any exterior color.

03

Walk-through

Confirm the details and the prep plan with your Project Manager or Paint Technician.

04

Prep

Failing stain gets scraped; decks get a light sanding so the new stain can bond.

05

Staining

Applied to full saturation for a protective seal and durable finish. We guarantee it.

06

Inspection walk

You don’t pay a dime until the post-job inspection is done and you’re 100% satisfied.

Your staining questions, answered

Which staining products do you use?
For most projects we use Sherwin-Williams Woodscapes or Superdeck, depending on the scope.
How many coats do you apply?
We guarantee full saturation: as much stain as the wood needs to fully penetrate, with no per-coat upcharges.
How do I choose a stain color?
Solid stains come in any exterior paint color. Transparent, semi-transparent, and semi-solid finishes use pre-set colors you can browse in store or online.
Do you offer interior staining or door refinishing?
Not at this time, but call the office and we’ll happily point you to a referral who can help.
